Each year during Fire Prevention Week Fire Departments across the United States remember the members that helped form, define and lead their organizations.  In Simsbury, we recognize those that went before us on National Firefighters’ Memorial Sunday, the Sunday at the beginning of Fire Prevention Week.  Our annual Memorial Service was held on October 06 at 09:00 at the Main Fire Station, 871 Hopmeadow Street.  Due to inclement weather the ceremony was held in the apparatus room of the station with the exception of the Bell Ringing during the Roll Call.  Firefighter Chris Wilcox rang the Bell for each member as their name was read from the Roll Call.  The ceremony was followed by our annual Open House.  This year’s theme followed the National Fire Protection Association’s 2013 message about Kitchen Fire Safety.

Please relive the day with this photo gallery.
