Honoring 51 Years of Service đźš’

On behalf of the Simsbury Fire District, President Gary Wilcox and the entire executive committee and fire commissioners would like to congratulate Deputy Chief Kevin Kowalski on his retirement after an incredible 51 years of service to the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company, spanning from October 28, 1974 to August 8, 2026!

Over the decades, Kevin has worn countless hats—serving as Fire Marshal, Emergency Management Director, District Administrator, and Deputy Chief—and responding to an astonishing 14,827 calls. Never in the history of the Fire District or the Fire Company has one person served in so many vital roles, or answered the call to help our community so many times, for so long.

He leaves behind enormous shoes to fill, but we are deeply grateful that he will continue to offer his guidance, support, and consultation as we move forward.

Please join us in thanking Deputy Chief Kevin Kowalski for his extraordinary dedication to the Fire District, the Fire Company, and the residents of Simsbury!
