Summer Safety
Summer is a great time to enjoy backyard cookouts, swimming, and spending time outdoors. Take these precautions to help prevent accidents and keep everyone safe!
Grill Safety
When grilling, remember to:
- Keep grills at least 10 feet away from your home, deck, and other combustible materials.
- Never leave a lit grill unattended.
- Keep children and pets away from the grilling area.
- Check propane connections for leaks before use.
- Allow charcoal ashes to cool completely before disposing of them.
- Regularly clean grease buildup off the grill.
- Remember that dry conditions increase the risk of fire.

Water Safety
Whenever you are in or near water, remember to:
- Always swim with a buddy.
- Closely supervise children around the water.
- Wear a properly fitted life jacket.
- Avoid alcohol during water activities.
- Swim only in designated areas and never dive into unfamiliar water.
