A Change of Command
Today, we honor and celebrate Chief James Baldis, who has dedicated over 47 years of exemplary service to the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company and the Town of Simsbury. Chief Baldis has always put the well-being of our community first. His unwavering commitment, leadership, and compassion have made a profound impact on the members of the SVFC.
A Change of Command Ceremony will be held this evening at 7:00pm at the Main Fire Station where Chief Baldis will be honored for his nearly 20 years leading the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company. Captain Todd Myers will be sworn in as the new Chief of Department.

Chief Baldis was honored for over 47 years of service, with nearly 20 years in command of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company. Captain Todd Myers was sworn in as Chief of Department. The members of the SVFC wish Chief Baldis a happy & healthy retirement and congratulate Chief Myers on his new role. We look forward to serving under his leadership!
