A 14' rescue-style, walk-in body by Emergency Vehicles, Inc. mounted on a 2006 Ford F550 Super Duty 4x4 chassis. This apparatus was designed to perform multiple functions such as serving as a command and communications center during major incidents and fire investigations. To support these operations the vehicle is equipped with a radio array that covers a wide spectrum of frequencies to facilitate multi-jurisdictional communications, the ability to accept and distribute a temporary, hard-wired telephone service, air conditioning, a refrigerator and a 13' roll-out awning.
Special Operations 17 is equipped to provide scene lighting via its Will-Burt RCP 360° rotating telescopic tower capable of providing 6000w of lighting, two mounted, portable 1500w halogen lights, and other portable lighting devices, all of which are powered by a 12kw Westerbeke, water-cooled diesel generator. Compartment space allows for the transportation of various other equipment including 30 spare SCBA air bottles.
