OUR ANNUAL TRADITION CONTINUED DESPITE COVID-19

 2020 Torchlight 1  2020 Torchlight 2

2020 Torchlight 3           2020 Torchlight 4

The members of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company wanted to be sure that our Simsbury Residents get some old fashion holiday cheer at a time when traditional gatherings are being canceled and discouraged.

In place of our usual parade down Hopmeadow Street, the volunteers put the decorated trucks on display for all to see in a drive through event down Iron Horse Boulevard so everyone was able to stay distant, safe and enjoy the spirit of the holidays in full color!

We realize the overwhelming success of this event caused traffic issues and delays up of 90 mins or more getting to the parade.  We thank everyone's patience and understanding as we estimated that over 1,000 cars full smiling adults and children came through and enjoyed the sights. We delayed the close of the event until 8pm when the Fireworks were scheduled to start and it was also when the last car in line came through.

We send a big thank you to the Simsbury Police who did their best to keep things moving the best they could under the circumstances.

We will be back again next year and hopefully with our traditional moving parade down Hopmeadow St as in years past.

Happy Holidays to all!
