Alex gets pinned by his Mother  Regular Member Alex Bailey and his Mom

Volunteer Firefighter Alex Bailey, who is assigned to the Weatogue Station and is the Engineer on Hazmat 33, was awarded his regular badge after successfully completing his probationary period which included becoming State Certified Firefighter 1.

Alex joined the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company in 2010 as a Junior Member and then became a Probationary Member upon reaching his 18th birthday.  Over the next few years Alex attended college and took advantage of the Fire Company’s Academic Leave program which allows members enrolled in school to continue to serve the community when they are home during their school breaks, but gives them the needed flexibility to complete their studies.

Having graduated college, Alex was able to complete his necessary training that allowed him to be recommended for regular membership by his station officers, Captain Vic Civitillo and Lieutenant Ryan Esthus.  A vote of Alex's peers confirmed the recommendation and his regular badge was presented to Alex at a ceremony held at the Weatogue Station attended by Fire Company members from all 6 stations, as well as Alex’s family members.
