Kevin Kowalski, Deputy Chief of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company and Fire Marshal for the Simsbury Fire District was inducted into the Connecticut State Firefighter Association's Hall of Fame at a ceremony held recently at the Aqua Turf in Southington.

Chief Kowalski's work at the State and Federal levels for the improvement in the Fire Service and Public Protection was noted as one of many accomplishments his 42 plus year fire service career. Chief Kowalski, in his acceptance speach, stated that he was humbled by the nomination and opportunity to join others before him who have made significant contributions to the fire service.  He went on to encourage others to "get involved by joining the variety of Fire Service Organizations available".

Chief Kowalski was 1 of 11 members of the fire service who were inducted in to the Hall of Fame this year.  The induction ceremony was attended by over 500 members of the Connecticut Fire Service and included his Wife (a member of the Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary), his Daughter and Son-in-Law (both Captains for the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company), his Father, his Brother and other family and friends.
